Manufacturers of generator AVRs will often need to adjust the voltage regulator, mainly for the adjustment of the closing voltage and the adjustment of the regulation value.
1, the closing voltage adjustment
Use a dry battery and battery, ammeter in series, connected to the regulator battery terminals. Start the engine and gradually increase the speed, in the interceptor contact closure to observe the tractor on the ammeter pointer. If the ammeter pointer to “+” direction swing, that the closure voltage is high, should reduce the spring tension; If the ammeter pointer to “-” direction swing, that the closure voltage is low, should increase the spring tension. So repeatedly adjust until the interceptor contact closure when the ammeter pointer is almost not swing, it means that the closing voltage is appropriate.
2、Adjustment of the regulating value
Use two dry cell batteries in series with the battery, ammeter, connected to the battery terminals of the regulator. Start the engine, gradually increase the speed. When the regulator is working, observe the ammeter pointer. If the ammeter pointer to “+” direction swing, that the regulator value is high, should reduce the spring tension; If the ammeter pointer to “-” direction swing, that the regulator value is low, should increase the spring tension. This repeatedly adjusted until the regulator works, the ammeter pointer is almost not swing, it means that the regulator value is appropriate.
The principle of generator regulator adjustment method is: dry cell and battery in series, there is a certain potential, and the generator is issued a certain voltage, when the two are not equal to produce current. The former potential is higher than the latter, the ammeter pointer to the “-” direction, and vice versa to the “+” direction. Only when the two potentials are almost equal, the ammeter pointer does not swing.
